Where we work
JRS Middle East and North Africa is the newest region of the Jesuit Refugee Service, an
international Catholic organization sponsored by the Society of Jesus. Initially established in the Middle East to meet the needs of Iraqi refugees, JRS regionally now works predominantly with Syrians - both inside and outside of Syria. It offers a wide range of services, namely: emergency support in the form of food aid, shelter, non-food items, hygiene kits and basic medical support to people with chronic and terminal illnesses. Other services include educational and psychosocial support, especially to Syrian children, legal and medical referrals, family visits, and small livelihood projects. The regional office serves
more than 120,000 people in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey.
JRS programmes, found in 51 countries worldwide, provide assistance to more than 500,000 individuals. This service provision is overseen by 10 regional offices with support from the International Office in Rome. JRS West Africa is one of 10 geographic regions of the Jesuit Refugee Service, an international Catholic organisation sponsored by the Society of Jesus. The regional office in West Africa serves refugee and internally displaced people in Central African Republic (CAR), Chad and Côte d’Ivoire. Services include: education, skills training, vocational training and healthcare. JRS supports the redevelopment of war-torn communities in these areas, including the reconstruction of schools and the reintegration of former child soliders. |

Le JRS Afrique de l'Ouest est une des 10 régions géographiques du Service Jésuite des Réfugiés, organisation internationale catholique parrainée par la Compagnie de Jésus. Le Bureau régional d'Afrique de l'Ouest sert les réfugiés et les personnes déplacées dans leurs pays en République Centrafricaine, au Tchad et en Côte d'Ivoire. Ces services comprennent : éducation, enseignement de savoir-faire, formation professionnelle, soins médicaux. Il JRS Africa Occidentale è una delle 10 aree geografiche del Servizio dei Gesuiti per i Rifugiati, un'organizzazione internazionale cattolica promossa dalla Compagnia di Gesù. L'ufficio regionale in Africa Occidentale assiste rifugiati e sfollati interni nella Repubblica Centrafricana (CAR), in Ciad e in Costa d'Avorio. I servizi comprendono: programmi di istruzione, corsi di formazione e corsi professionali e servizi sanitari. Il JRS sostiene la riabilitazione delle comunità colpite dal conflitto in queste aree, anche attraverso la ricostruzione di edifici scolastici e la riabilitazione di ex-bambini soldato.
